iridescence

For those of us who are sick of galaxy prints (everyone, by now, surely?) a new trend is slowly emerging. Holographic or iridescent-look accessories and clothing are coming through and it’s time to make room in your oversaturated-with-galaxy-print wardrobes to accommodate these little beauties. Above is a brief selection of what is on offer, although it does take a bit of a rummage around the internet so you need to be dedicated to the hipster-friendly holograph look.

Inspired by the runway shoes of Jil Sander and Marni, I am especially a fan of the miista.com Zoe oxford, which is unfortunately sold out on the website after making the rounds through the blogosphere recently. I am, of course, hoping and praying that they pop up on the website again soon.

The iridescent/metallic trend is going to be a biggy for S/S 13, with futuristic (and shiny!) threads being seen at Markus Lupfer, Johnathon Saunders and Diane Von Furstenburg, to name but a few. The trend is something of a follow-on from last Summer’s mermaid-esque metallic trend which didn’t really take off on the highstreet in the big way that I really hoped it would. Hence why I am so stoked about this summer’s take on the trend.
